Welcome To The 2012 O:CR Riverbender Website!
Imagine yourself fishing on a kayak while floating down this peaceful six mile trail on one of the oldest
rivers in the world. As you are winding your way through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in
Virginia, you seek the destination of now what is called our own private O:CR Beach. This new O:CR
Riverbender adventure weekend that we started in 2010 was so successful, that it is now a keeper on
The O:CR calendar. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, then please join us on this historic designated
American Heritage River as we continue to raise ovarian cancer awareness.

Timeline:
Friday, August 24, 2012:
2:00pm - All three houses are open
4:30pm - Arts and crafts...you will not want to miss...don't be late..... Eric M. will be teaching how to
make origami fish at picnic table #1

5:00pm - The O:CR Happy Hour, keg from Bull and Bones

8:00pm - Dinner, smoked BBQ
, cole slaw, and sides from Bull And Bones
1:00am - Hotdogs
from the grill and chips

Saturday, August 25, 2012:
7:30am - Breakfast, TBD
8:00am - Blue Cat On The New Outfitters will pick us up at the houses and port our kayaks up the river
9:00am -
We will be on the New River starting our six mile adventure
Early Afternoon - Lunch (sandwiches and chips) at a designated area on the river
Late Afternoon - We will have reached back at The O:CR
8:00pm - Scooter's Low Country Shrimp Boil

1:00am - Campfire pizza


Sunday, August 26, 2012:
8:00am - Breakfast, TBD
10:00am - Must be out of the house

Lodging in one of the three houses on the river - $60 per person (see below for more information)

The 320 mile New River is home to bass, trout, walleye, muskellunge, crappie, bluegill, flathead, and
channel catfish. You will need to research which is the best bait for late August.

The O:CR Riverbender 2012 Lodging Information
This year we are trying something new where we are trading our tents in for houses. We have three riverfront houses that we have rented for the weekend. House one
and two are right next to each other. One of them will host the meals for the weekend.
House three is just down the road from the other two houses. This is designated for
those who would like to go to bed a little earlier than other people
who are staying in houses one and two.
